Shimaenaga Lantern
This lantern is designed in the image of the Shimaenaga bird, which is native to Hokkaido, Japan. This lantern uses Mino Washi, a type of Japanese paper made in Mino City, Gifu Prefecture, which is designated as an Important Intangible Cultural Property.
Lanterns were called “Akari” (lights) in old Japan and served as room lamps. This product can be used not only as an object to decorate, but also as a desk lamp like a candle. It can be lit by inserting an LED light and can be used as a desk lamp or night lamp. It is designed to be placed on a table, but it can also be hung by hooking the wire on the top. *Please note that the hook in the photo is not included with the product.
