This artwork has the characters Keifu in calligraphy. Keifu refers to the gentle preeze that nourishes all things; a spring breeze. It is said to mean that the luck and happiness of life are carried by the wind.

About an artist

 

Saisetsu Hayashi
Calligrapher

A calligrapher based in Gifu Prefecture, Japan, Hayashi has also designed CD covers for Japanese singers and artists. He began practicing calligraphy in elementary school and was gradually captivated by the beauty of kanji characters. He then moved to another calligraphy school to study calligraphy in earnest and obtained a master’s license. He has also provided works upon the request from a Harvard University professor.

 2012 Promoted to executive board member

 2008 Received the Hyogo Governor’s Award at the Akatsuki Exhibition

 2012 Received the Merit Award at the Akatsuki Exhibition
